Broker's Comments
Boatshed Hamble are pleased to present this Swan 46 MK1 which was launched in 1983 and appears to have been maintained in excellent condition. She is well equipped for both cruising and racing. Her history includes Swan regattas, 2019 Fastnet and 2012 Cork Week class winner.
The Swan 46 was one of Nautor's most enduring successes, with 109 built between 1983 and 1997, a modern classic (with so many sailors aspiring to own one) that the values of well maintained yachts have increased with age. It was also reportedly one of the favourites of her designer, German Frers, who described her as "beautifully responsive to sail, small enough for two or three competent crew to handle, yet big enough to accommodate a family of six in complete comfort".
The quintessential Swan and successful cruiser/racer, 46's won the prestigious Rolex Swan European Regatta in 1992 and the Rolex Swan World Cup in 1990, the ultimate test for all Swan models.
