Broker's Comments

The quandary of boat design is complex at the best of times. To combine a yacht capable of 15 knots plus with accommodation for four and the ability to fit on a trailer behind the family car sounds beyond the realms of possibility. So then, hats off to Volvo Ocean racer and Olympic champion Horacio Carabelli for his remarkable achievement in doing so. The self titled Carabelli sails like a hardened racer without the 'stripped bare' racer interior. Amazingly, this speed machine includes four berths, sea toilet and un-complicated galley, making it the perfect combination of sailing performance and simple family accommodation. Add to the mix a well maintained Yanmar diesel inboard, lifting keel and custom built road legal trailer and you really do have a versatile sailing package.
The boat has had various upgrades during her current ownership including new (2016) main and genoa, custom built trailer and engine rebuild (2015). During winter months both boat and trailer have been dry stored which has undoubtedly helped maintain a high level of condition. If a good dose of high octane sailing before anchoring up for the night appeals this boat is sure to please.
