Broker's Comments

A project boat with a very interesting history. 'Escaper' was commissioned by Flight Lieutenant Eric Williams who was the author of several books including The Wooden Horse that was made into a film of the same name in 1950 which portrays the story of when he was shot down in a WWII bombing raid and the subsequent escape from Stalag Luft III. She is a very much loved vessel and the current owners want the boat to go to a new owner who will enjoy the restoration of the yacht to bring her back to her former glory. Most of the required work is cosmetic but the owners have made the following comments regarding known non-cosmetic issues.
FUEL TANKS
Port fuel tank and port header tank cleaned/rustproofed and new inspection hatches fitted Spring 2020
Starboard Fuel tank full of old fuel and header tank empty with minor leak along top edge
HOLDING TANK
Brand new Tek Tanks holding tank installed but not yet plumbed in. All plumbing fittings included.
BELOW THE WATERLINE

Keel - sacrificial deadwood on aft keel scraped and damaged
RIGGING
Standing rigging needs replacing
DECKS

Plus, all batteries tired
