Broker's Comments

A superbly presented classic cabin cruiser on which the owners have spent a great deal of time and money 'saving' this traditional cruiser from an uncertain future as she was discovered unloved and unappreciated.

Although we cannot be sure of the original builders or designers of the boat, it was clearly a well constructed craft with a raked stem and transom stern design and a round bilge mid section, underpinned by a full length keel extending below the propellor and the rudder. There was a vessel of the same name and approximate size registered on the river Thames until 2009 which had been built in 1935 by Dover Boatyard.

The round bilge and strong build would suggest that it was built for coastal use originally and the owner thinks that the quality of the timber suggests a pre-war build. He was also able to use teak left over from his work on the Cutty Sark rebuild and evidence of the vendor's excellent craftsmanship is everywhere to be seen.

Built of carvel mahogany on oak and now painted cream with varnished decks and superstructure, the boat has had a full ground up renovation.

The ash interior is light with a good sized double berth in the bow, heads with shower and period basin, a well equipped galley with 4 burner gas cooker and double oven, wheelhouse, new engine (Nanni N4.38) and a covered aft cockpit which can be opened up when the weather permits.

There is a full length winter cover which was made recently which is included.

The Boat Safety Certificate expires in 2026.

There is a list of all items purchased for the rebuild available.

The full refurbishment cost over £70,000 for the new engine, wiring, fittings and approximately 2000 hours of labour. The hull was checked and repainted during winter 2023.
