Broker's Comments

Boatshed midicanal is pleased to offer for sale,
this Smelne Svet 1200, built by the prestigious Dutch yard Smelne Yachtcenter. She is a standout example of a premium Dutch steel cruiser, combining quality construction, timeless design, and liveaboard comfort.

Perfectly suited for both inland waterways and coastal cruising, it offers the ideal setup for extended stays on board, with solid autonomy and great ease of use. This is the kind of Dutch motor cruiser designed to handle rivers, canals, and protected coastal passages with elegance and safety.

I was impressed by the apparent standard of care and maintenance for a 2001 model. Everything onboard is clean, functional and well cared for. The technical servicing seems to have been done meticulously, based on the overall condition and documentation.

It has had only two owners since new. The current owner purchased it directly from the Smelne factory in the Netherlands, from a member of the shipyard team - a strong sign of quality history and traceability.

On a personal note, I was truly impressed by this vessel. Its layout is both clever and generous:

2 separate cabins (forward and aft)
1 bathrooms with showers
1 separate WC
A large, fully equipped galley
A bright saloon with panoramic views
Bow and stern thrusters for easy manoeuvring
Solid steel hull for safety and durability

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a comfortable liveaboard cruiser, ideal for anyone seeking long-distance inland or coastal cruising, with the timeless charm of Dutch boatbuilding.
