Broker's Comments
A thirty foot fast cruising yacht for less than six grand? A bit of work required to make her smart maybe (especially around her fore-hatch and fore cabin) but nothing that should deter a keen amateur looking for a cheap yacht with offshore or even live-aboard possibilities.
She was purchased from us in March of this year (2015) by a Polish gentleman who's dream, despite having zero experience, was to sail her back home with the aid of a friend who had at least done some sailing. Unfortunately the friend dropped out after arrangements had been made and two other Polish chaps joined the crew, but it soon transpired that they had virtually no sailing experience either!
The nervous owner and crew then set off from Neyland but picked up a polythene bag on the prop within an hour of leaving our marina. The wise decision was then made to return to the haven.
Our purchaser has requested that we relist his yacht for sale; she is in our yard and as he has said rather sadly in his e mail today, "and so my dream ends!"
