Built in Florida by The New Bombay Trading Company during what appears to be a relatively brief time period. Few Bombay 44 Explorers were build. Their predecessor from a different manufacturer was the Stillson 44. It's a heavy layup of solid FRP with a skeg-hung rudder and a fairly large shoal draft keel employing a center board operated from a deck winch.

Broker's Comments
This Bombay 44 Explorer is one of the unique designs innovated to allow access to a wide range of cruising grounds without sacrificing deep keel performance. It has a shoal draft keel allowing for shallow water sailing plus a center board that drops to 9-1/2 feet. This boat has seen extensive travels to places such as the Sea of Cortez and even Tahiti. It could make those trips again or serve as a nicely-sized live aboard. Her cockpit is huge with a big folding table. Her engine has been replaced and has less than 400 hours. But she could use a new dodger.
